Can I Visit EVERY Ninh Binh Attraction in JUST 24 Hours?

The Ultimate Ninh Binh Challenge Begins!

Ninh Binh—Vietnam’s underrated paradise. Imagine Ha Long Bay, but on land, with towering limestone cliffs, emerald rivers, and ancient temples straight out of an adventure movie. Most travelers take at least two or three days to explore this hidden gem.

But I’m about to do it all in 24 hours.

Get my free travel tips and hacks guide here https://paradiseadventures.live/southeast-asia-travel-tips-and-hacks-free-guide/

Yep, I’ve challenged myself to visit every major attraction in Ninh Binh before the clock strikes noon tomorrow. And because no great challenge is complete without rules, here’s the deal:

📍 Rule #1: I can only use a motorbike or taxi. No cheating!
🕒 Rule #2: I must visit every major attraction within 24 hours. No excuses.
🍜 Rule #3: Skipping meals is NOT allowed. A hangry traveler is a terrible traveler.
🌞 Rule #4: I must arrive and leave each attraction during daylight—no sneaking into temples at midnight.

And if I fail? I have to eat street-style roast goat. And trust me, that’s not something I’m looking forward to.

Here’s my full hit list:

  • Trang An Grottoes 🛶

  • Hoa Lư Ancient Capital

  • Bai Dinh Pagoda 🏯 (for sunset)

  • Roast Duck Dinner 🍗

  • Hang Mua Viewpoint (for sunrise) 🌄

  • Eat Banh Mi in Tam Coc 🥖

  • Tam Coc Boat Ride 🚣‍♂️

  • Try Egg Coffee in Tam Coc ☕

  • Bich Dong Pagoda 🏞️

  • Chùa Vàng

  • Hoa Lư Ancient Town

So, can I really pull this off? Let’s find out.

Stop #1: Trang An Grottoes – A Boat Ride to Another World

Ninh Binh Vietnam, Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh Attractions, Things To Do In NInh Binh, What to do in Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh 2025, Ninh Binh Travel, Ninh Binh Vlog, Travel Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam Travel

Time: 12:00 PM

The adventure kicks off at Trang An Grottoes, one of the most jaw-dropping places in Vietnam. It’s like a maze of emerald rivers, hidden caves, and towering limestone mountains, all waiting to be explored by boat.

I hop into a wooden rowboat, and to my surprise, the Vietnamese woman paddling is rowing with her feet. Meanwhile, I’m struggling just to sit still without tipping over.

For the next hour, I float through dark caves, ancient temples, and narrow water passages that feel like secret hideouts. The only sounds? Oars dipping into the water and the occasional bird call.

It’s peaceful, It’s surreal, It’s everything I imagined and more.

But there’s no time to get lost in the beauty—I’m on the clock!

Stop #2: Hoa Lư Ancient Capital – Stepping into Vietnam’s Past

Time: 2:45 PM

Next up—Hoa Lư, the very first capital of Vietnam from over 1,000 years ago. This place was once filled with warriors, emperors, and legendary battles, but today, it’s a peaceful time capsule of Vietnam’s royal past.

I wander through the King Dinh and King Le Temples, admiring their intricate carvings and massive stone courtyards. The air is thick with history, and I half expect a warrior in golden armor to walk past me.

But as much as I’d love to stay and absorb the ancient vibes, I’ve got a challenge to complete!

Stop #3: Bai Dinh Pagoda – The Largest Temple in Vietnam 🏯A Golden Hour Masterpiece

Time: 4:30 PM

Bai Dinh isn’t just big—it’s MASSIVE. This Buddhist complex is the largest in Vietnam, with hundreds of golden Buddha statues, towering stupas, and a bell that could wake up the entire countryside.

Climbing up to the top? A stairway to heaven (literally and figuratively). By the time I reach the summit, my legs feel like jelly, but the panoramic view of Ninh Binh is worth every single step.

From up here, I can see rolling green mountains, endless rice fields, and tiny rivers weaving through the valley below. It’s breathtaking.

But I can’t stay forever—I have a sunset deadline to catch!

As the sun starts setting, Bai Dinh transforms into something straight out of a movie. The golden rooftops glow in the last light of the day, monks chant softly in the distance, and the scent of incense fills the air.

It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and appreciate the moment. I take a deep breath, let the peaceful energy sink in, and realize…

I’M STARVING.

Time for the best meal in Ninh Binh.

Stop #5: Roast Duck Dinner – The Grand Feast 🍗

Time: 7:30 PM

After a full day of hiking, boating, and temple-hopping, I’m ready to devour a mountain of food. And in Ninh Binh, that means one thing: roast duck.

The dish arrives, and it’s a thing of beauty:

🔥 Crispy, golden skin that crackles with every bite
🍖 Tender, juicy meat that melts in your mouth
🥢 A side of sweet, sticky sauce that ties everything together

I take a bite, and it’s pure heaven.

Honestly, if every challenge ended with a meal like this, I’d sign up for more. But for now? I’m full, exhausted, and halfway through my mission.

What’s Next?

With Trang An’s mystical caves, Hoa Lư’s ancient wonders, Bai Dinh’s golden sunset, and a roast duck feast under my belt, I’ve made it through the first half of the challenge.

But the hardest part is yet to come.

Tomorrow, I have to wake up before sunrise to conquer Hang Mua Viewpoint, fuel up on egg coffee, and hit the final attractions before the 12:00 noon deadline.

Will I make it? Or will I fail and end up eating roast goat?

The Final Stretch: Can I Finish the Ultimate Ninh Binh Challenge?

After an action-packed first half of the challenge, I’ve already rowed through Trang An’s misty caves, walked through the ancient gates of Hoa Lư, caught sunset at Bai Dinh Pagoda, and devoured a glorious roast duck dinner.

But I’m only halfway done.

This next part is where things get brutal—starting with a pre-sunrise mountain climb (who thought that was a good idea?!) and ending at one of the oldest towns in Vietnam.

The rules are still the same:

📍 Rule #1: I can only use a motorbike or taxi.
🕒 Rule #2: I must hit ALL the major attractions within 24 hours.
🍜 Rule #3: I CANNOT skip meals.
🌞 Rule #4: I must arrive or leave each attraction during daylight hours.

And if I fail? I have to eat a plate of roast goat. I am NOT ready for that.

With just 12 hours left, let’s jump into the madness!

Stop #6: Hang Mua Viewpoint – The Ultimate Sunrise Climb 🌄

Ninh Binh Vietnam, Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh Attractions, Things To Do In NInh Binh, What to do in Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh 2025, Ninh Binh Travel, Ninh Binh Vlog, Travel Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam Travel

Time: 5:30 AM

I’m standing at the base of Hang Mua, staring at 500 ancient stone steps leading straight up to the sky. It’s still dark, and my legs are already protesting.

But there’s no time to complain—the sun waits for no one.

I start climbing, and within minutes, I’m gasping for air. Halfway up, an Vietnamese woman casually strolls past me like she’s on a morning walk. How?!

Finally, I reach the top, legs shaking, lungs on fire, and drenched in sweat. But then, I turn around and—BOOM.

The sky is glowing in shades of pink, orange, and gold, stretching over endless rice fields and misty limestone peaks. It looks like a painting come to life.

For a moment, I forget about the challenge. This? This is magic.

Stop #7: Banh Mi in Tam Coc – The Breakfast of Champions 🥖

Time: 7:05 AM

After nearly passing out on a mountaintop, I need food. Immediately.

I ride into Tam Coc, a quiet riverside village, and hunt down Vietnam’s ultimate street food—banh mi.

The vendor hands me a crusty, golden baguette stuffed with eggs, pâté, fresh herbs, and chili sauce. I take one bite, and it’s heaven.

Crunchy. Buttery. Spicy. I inhale it in three minutes flat.

Stop #8: Tam Coc Boat Ride – Floating Through a Dream 🚣‍♂️

Time: 7:40 AM

Next up: Tam Coc—aka “Ha Long Bay on Land.”

I hop into a small wooden boat, and my guide starts rowing with her feet (yes, really).

As we drift along the river, I’m surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, lush rice paddies, and dark caves that look like hidden worlds.

It’s so peaceful, I almost forget I’m racing against the clock.

At one point, I pass a couple trying to get the perfect Instagram shot. Meanwhile, I’m just trying not to fall into the water.

By the time we return, I feel completely relaxed… but I’ve got to keep moving!

Time check: 9:15 AM

Stop #9: Egg Coffee in Tam Coc – A Sweet Pick-Me-Up ☕

Time: 9:15 AM

Next stop? Caffeine.

I find a cute riverside café and order Vietnam’s legendary egg coffee. If you’ve never had it, imagine a sweet, creamy espresso topped with frothy whipped egg yolk.

I take a sip. It’s like drinking liquid tiramisu.

I could sit here all day, but there’s no time to relax—I have a temple to find.

Time: 10:00 AM

Tucked away in a limestone mountain, Bich Dong Pagoda is like something out of a fantasy movie.

I walk through a mossy stone gate straight into a jungle temple complex, complete with ancient staircases and secret caves.

I explore hidden shrines, climb old pathways, and suddenly find myself inside a dark cave lit only by flickering candles.

It’s mystical, quiet, and slightly eerie. I half expect to stumble upon a hidden treasure chest.

Stop #11: Hoa Lư Ancient Town – The Grand Finale 🎭

Time: 11:30 AM

For my final stop, I head back to Hoa Lư Ancient Town.

It’s a charming little place with traditional Vietnamese houses, ancient stone walls, and peaceful countryside vibes.

By this point, I’m running on pure adrenaline. My body is sore, my brain is blending temples together, and my motorbike seat is practically glued to me.

I take a slow walk, soaking in the last bits of history. No rushing. No stress. Just one final moment of appreciation.

Did I Complete the Challenge?

YES. I officially visited every major attraction in Ninh Binh in just 24 hours!

I climbed 500+ steps before sunrise, explored hidden caves, rowed through ancient waterways, and somehow survived on a motorbike for an entire day.

And best of all? No roast goat punishment for me! 🎉

Final Thoughts: Should You Do This Challenge?

Would I recommend Ninh Binh in just 24 hours?

If you love adventure, don’t mind a hectic schedule, and want to see EVERYTHING, then yes!
If you prefer slow travel, soaking in nature, and not rushing, then take at least 2-3 days.

Either way, Ninh Binh is an absolute must-visit in Vietnam. It’s a place where you can feel completely lost in nature, history, and culture—all in one day.

Challenge complete. Now, I’m sleeping for a week. 😴
